2013) - Collaborative Laboratory Services, LLC. (CLS), a
Saint Francis Care partner, has named
Maria J. McGuire, a resident of Farmington, as Director of Lab Information
In this new role, McGuire will implement an automated
specimen tracking system along with a system upgrade and state-of-the-art
laboratory instrumentation implementation. As the project manager for all IS/IT
projects with a laboratory component, McGuire works closely with all stakeholders
to implement a new Hospital Information System (HIS).
“Maria is a knowledgeable
healthcare professional with experience in laboratory services and application
analysis, including anatomic pathology and hospital outreach services,” said
Kathleen Luczyk, CLS, Chief Operating Officer.
Prior to her appointment as Director of Lab Information
Systems, McGuire was Laboratory Information Systems Manager. During that time, McGuire
and her team completed upgrades to hardware and applications, implemented a
laboratory web-based portal for orders and results, implemented a Meaningful
Use Module, and applied electronic orders and results to various physician
practice electronic medical records (EMR).
McGuire joined Saint Francis after eight years as a Senior Application
Specialist at Yale New Haven Health System/Greenwich Hospital, Greenwich. She
earned a Master of Computer Science and Information Systems degree from Iona
College, New Rochelle, NY.
CLS provides laboratory services for patients who visit any of
20 outreach patient service centers, for residents at over 60 long-term
facilities and assisted living facilities, as well as patients who visit the
Saint Francis or Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital facilities and clinics.
CLS performs over five million tests and more than 400,000 venipunctures
