(HARTFORD, Conn.) – James W. Schepker, of West Hartford, has joined Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center as vice president for communications.
In his new position Schepker will be responsible for the hospital’s public relations, publications and communications activities. He most recently served as senior vice president for communications at Bank of America. Based in Hartford, Schepker was responsible for the management of a national team responsible for publicizing major corporate community investments.
He previously was associated with FleetBoston Financial for nine years as senior vice president for marketing and communications and served as deputy director of corporate affairs at Shawmut National Corporation from 1993 to 1995. From 1980 to 1993 Schepker was associated with Jonathan Wisconsin, Inc., serving most recently as
president of the Marlborough based marketing services firm.
Schepker holds a bachelor’s degree from Merrimack College, North Andover, Mass., a master’s in literature from Wesleyan University and a master’s in business administration from the University of Connecticut. His community activities include service on the college advocacy committee of Conard High School, West Hartford, and on the boards of directors of Camp Courant and the Connecticut Forum.
Founded in 1897, Saint Francis is licensed for 617 acute inpatient beds and 65 bassinets and is the largest Catholic hospital in New England.
