(HARTFORD, Conn.) – Tawhid R. Gazi, M.D., of Glastonbury, has joined the Medical and Dental Staff of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Gazi received his medical degree from the Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston. He served as a resident in internal medicine and a fellow in gastroenterology at Tufts University-New England Medical Center, Boston.
During his fellowship, Dr. Gazi received an award recognizing his extraordinary care and service at Tufts-New England. Dr. Gazi also received multiple teaching awards from the Tufts School of Medicine, and conducted research studies at New England Medical Center; Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Boston; and at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He was the 1994 recipient of the American Gastroenterological Association Research Award.
Dr. Gazi is board certified in internal medicine and the subspecialty of gastroenterology. He previously practiced at Gastroenterology Associates of North Texas, Fort Worth. At Saint Francis, he will practice as a member of Golam R. Gazi, M.D., F.R.C.P., (C), L.L.C.
Founded in 1897, Saint Francis is licensed for 617 acute inpatient beds and 65 bassinets and is the largest Catholic hospital in New England.
