Geriatrics is the subspecialty of internal medicine concerned with the health and well-being of older adults. We believe that older adults are a gift to our community and we strive to help our patients remain sharp, active, healthy and happy. Your primary physician might refer you to Saint Francis Geriatric Service, or a family member might recognize a need for a geriatrician and suggest you consult us. Some concerns that might bring an older adult to our office might include: falls, incontinence, cerebrovascular disease, dementia, sensory impairment and other cognitive and affective changes that occur with aging. The Geriatric Medicine program at Saint Francis offers a full range of care to older adults from outpatient assessment to providing pirmary care to residents at Saint Mary Home, our skilled nursing facility in West Hartford.
