Our professional staff shares the belief that it is necessary to match treatment interventions and services to the particular needs of each patient. Effective treatment must address associated medical, psychological, and social, problems. We rely on the diagnostic skill of our multidisciplinary treatment team, who collaborate in the formulation of a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan. Decisions regarding service levels are guided by the criteria established by Inter-Qual Utilization Review guidelines.
Our system is dedicated to continuously pursue the advancement of evidenced based and clinical consensus based best practices for the treatment of our patients. Clinically we provide therapeutic and psycho-educational services which stress a collaborative and supportive relationship between the patient and the therapeutic team. Helping patients to see their strengths, establishing a vision for successful change, and providing skills and resources that assist the patient in attaining their stated goals for personal growth and recovery are the purpose of our clinical interactions.
Rapid stabilization of psychiatric symptoms and concomitant psycho-social crises, that place the individual at risk outside of the protective environment of an inpatient unit, are the focus of our treatment planning on this Service. As soon as possible, we want patients to feel safe, be safe from the thought or impulse to harm themselves or others, and to re-establish those skills needed to effectively function outside of the hospital. The approach to care is to emphasize the capabilities of the person, not the symptoms of the presenting problem.
Antecedents to hospitalization and factors that increase risk for safety will be identified for each patient. This information will form the basis for formulating the individual’s outpatient discharge plan. Continuing care planning and aftercare services is an essential part of each treatment episode, providing direction and structure to assist patients in maintaining treatment benefits, and preventing future inpatient admissions.
We are committed to monitoring our services and interventions so that we can systematically evaluate their effectiveness. We are always striving to improve clinical outcomes and to broaden the understanding of best standards of practice in the treatment of the patients we serve.
