3. How did the program prepare you to work in the field of cardiac ultrasound?
The coursework was all encompassing and was invaluable to the understanding of anatomy and pathophysiology. Through the coursework I felt as though there was not a situation that I would encounter in echo that I would not have some understanding of. Through the clinical experience at St Raphaels I was able to, in conjunction with the coursework in the program, trained my echo skills in all situations from TEE to general and emergency echo. Upon completion of the program I came out with the skill set and confidence level of a sonographer 2 years my senior. Because of the program I was able to orient in the fastest time that ORMC has seen and I was able to learn Stress echo within the first 3 months of the Job. I truly believe that my preparation and training through the Hoffman Heart School was among the best in the nation.
