Post Graduate Education:

Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine

Reason I chose Saint Francis:

Saint Francis is a well-rounded program where residents have the opportunity for a lot of independent learning, and decision making. It was the only program I interviewed at with a completely resident run clinic, which was very appealing for me.

Hometown:

Glendora, CA

Undergraduate Education:

Brigham Young University

Post Graduate Education:

Des Moines University

Reason I chose Saint Francis:

Saint Francis provides excellent surgical experience working with a wide variety of attending physicians. The weekly resident run surgical and wound care clinics are some of the greatest strengths of the program. As a student, I witnessed the positive work environment that exists between residents and attendings, and saw a great opportunity to develop myself as a physician and surgeon.

Sarah J. Daigle DPM - 2nd year Resident

Hometown:

Southbridge, MA

Undergraduate Education:

Lynn University, Boca Raton, FL

Post Graduate Education:

New York College of Podiatric Medicine

Reason I chose Saint Francis:

I chose Saint Francis because I felt the program was well rounded, giving residents a high level of autonomy, while being supported by a strong network of attending physicians. There is a good balance between surgery and clinic, which gives residents the opportunity to follow patients from pre-op through the post-op period. This, as well as the diversity among the surgical cases, made Saint Francis a desirable program for me.

Post Graduate Education:

Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine

Reason I chose Saint Francis:

I was initially drawn to Saint Francis for the opportunity to learn from residents and attendings of great caliber and variety. The Podiatric Surgical program at Saint Francis offers superior surgical and clinical training. It is structured to allow residents the opportunity to manage patients and make decisions from initial visit through post-op care.

Hometown:

Chillicothe, Ohio

Undergraduate education:

Post Graduate Education:

Kent State College of Podiatric Medicine

Reason I chose Saint Francis:

I chose Saint Francis for the high volume and diversity of surgical cases. The surgeons at Saint Francis have the knowledge and experience to coax my surgical technique into its fullest expression. I also like how the resident-ran podiatry and wound care clinics provide residents the opportunity to manage patients perioperatively.

John Dresser

John Dresser, DPM - 1st Year Resident

Hometown:

Emporium, Pennsylvania

Undergraduate education:

Florida State University

Post Graduate Education:

Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine

Reason I chose Saint Francis:

The reason I chose St. Francis Hospital is simple; the beautiful facility, the working environment, the level of training, and the number of podiatric attending physicians. When I rotated at St. Francis as a medical student, it was clear to me that if I was accepted to the program, I would become the best podiatric surgeon I was capable of being. Also, the comradery and friendliness of the coworkers was unmatched compared with any other hospital I rotated through. I know that it will be a challenging 3 years, but I look forward to absorbing all the knowledge I can from my attending physicians and co-residents.
