Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program

The Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency includes a credential in reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery (PMSR/RRA). Our three-year program is highly regarded because of its well-rounded nature; high volume of surgical cases; hands-on approach; and approachable, well-trained attendings. This program provides a complete education where residents who graduate are not only skilled podiatric surgeons, but are also able start and run a successful private practice. The program has an affiliation with the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. There, senior residents spend two months acquiring hands-on exposure to the surgical treatment of complicated foot and ankle deformities with emphasis in the pediatric population.

The Podiatric surgery residency program at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center began in 1990 and has been graduating well-trained podiatric surgeons each year since then. With 617 beds and specialties and residency programs in almost every discipline, the hospital is consistently ranked among the best in New England.
