Treatment of breast cancer can involve several different subspecialties
including surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology and
plastic surgery. The sequence of each treatment depends on the stage of
the tumor and desired results. For example, women interested in breast
conserving surgery may achieve these results by having chemotherapy first
and then surgery.
