(Hartford, Conn. February
24, 2014) – Michael L. Therrien, M.D., of Putnam, a specialist
in cardiovascular disease and critical care, has rejoined the medical staff of
Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center as the Medical Director of the
Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU).
Dr. Therrien received his
medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He
completed his residency in internal medicine at Saint Francis where he also
served as Chief Medical Resident. Dr.
Therrien also completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Brown
University Integrated Hospitals Cardiology, Providence, R.I.
Dr. Therrien held
several leadership roles both when he worked at Saint Francis from 1998 – 2008
and in positions later with the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps and the VA
A combat veteran of
Operation Iraqi Freedom, Dr. Therrien is board certified by the American Boards
of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Critical Care. He is also a
fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Chest

is practicing as a member of the Saint Francis Medical Group at the Hoffman Heart and Vascular Institute of Connecticut.
