(Hartford, Conn.  June 26, 2014) Joseph L. Charlot, Jr., M.D., M.P.H. 200Joseph L. Charlot, Jr., M.D., M.P.H., of Simsbury, a specialist in occupational medicine, has joined the medical staff of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. 

Dr. Charlot received his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, University of Medicine and Dentistry, of New Jersey. He also earned his masters of public health degree at Rutgers University, Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, Piscataway, N.J.  Dr. Charlot completed his Preventive Medicine Residency at the University of Maryland Medical System at Baltimore.   

Prior to joining Saint Francis, Dr. Charlot served as an Occupational Medicine Medical Officer with the United States Navy at the Naval Health Clinic, Naval Air Station in Patuxent River, Md.     

Dr. Charlot is board certified in occupational and preventive medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine.  He is a member of various professional organizations including the American College of Preventive Medicine, the American Medical Association and the American Public Health Association.   

At Saint Francis, Dr. Charlot is practicing as a member of Saint Francis Occupational Health where he will serve as the Medical Director of the Torrington location.
