Robert J. Krug, M.D., Named Chief Executive Officer/Medical Director at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital

Robert J. Krug, M.D., Named Chief Executive Officer Medical Director at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital(Hartford, Conn. January 6, 2015) – Saint Francis Care has named Robert J. Krug, M.D., Chief Executive Officer/Medical Director of Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital. 

In this new role, Dr. Krug will provide leadership oversight of Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital (MSRH), as well as planning and strategic development for MSRH, a Saint Francis Care provider. Dr. Krug will also continue in his role as Physician Leader of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service Line. 

Dr. Krug came to Saint Francis in 1996 as Medical Director, Neuromuscular Inpatient program at MSRH. In 1998, he was named Chairman/Director of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Saint Francis. Dr. Krug  was appointed Medical Director at MSRH in 2000 and Medical Director for Physical and Rehabilitation Services at the Joyce D. and Andrew J. Mandell Center for Comprehensive Multiple Sclerosis Care and Neuroscience Research in 2008, which he helped develop. 

Dr. Krug received his medical degree from SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine, NY.  

He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA; and a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Harvard Medical School/Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was also chief resident from 1994-1996. 

Dr. Krug is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and is also a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He serves as Co-Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee for the American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association.  Dr. Krug is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation; the Association of Academic Physiatrists; the Connecticut Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation; the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine; and, the American Medical Association.
