Saint Francis Names New General Counsel

Saint Francis Names New General Counsel (Hartford, Conn. February 4, 2015) – Saint Francis Care has appointed Janeanne C. Lubin-Szafranski, J.D., to the position of General Counsel and Vice President, Department of Legal Affairs. 

Lubin-Szafranski is a seasoned attorney, general counsel and healthcare executive who most recently worked at the Saint Raphael Healthcare System in New Haven, leading that organization through its merger with Yale New Haven Health System and reporting directly to the Board of Trustees. 

Lubin-Szafranski worked at Saint Raphael’s for nearly 30 years in a variety of roles including president and CEO as well as general counsel. She successfully collaborated with the board to complete the Saint Raphael transition into the Yale New Haven Health System within a targeted timeframe and in compliance with all state and federal requirements. Lubin-Szafranski also developed a strategic plan to avoid bankruptcy, and negotiated the termination and distribution of the employee pension plan.

Lubin-Szafranski earned her law degree at University of Connecticut School of Law and her bachelor’s degree at Boston College.
