Neonatologist Joins Saint Francis Staff

Fadel Balawi, M.D., Specialist in Neonatology  

(Hartford, Conn. August 3, 2011) – Fadel Balawi, M.D., a neonatologist, of Avon, has joined the Medical Staff of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. 
Dr. Balawi received his medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel-Aviv University, Tel-Aviv, Israel.  He served as a resident in pediatrics at Winthrop University Hospital, Mineola, N.Y., and as a fellow in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the Cohen Children’s Medical Center, Hyde Park, N.Y.     
Board certified in pediatrics and board eligible in neonatal-perinatal medicine,
Dr. Balawi holds an appointment as an instructor in pediatrics at the Hofstra University School of Medicine, Long Island, N.Y.  He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Bawali is the co-author of five scientific abstracts and is the co-author of a research paper that has been published in a peer-reviewed professional journal. 
At Saint Francis, Dr. Bawali is practicing as a member of the Saint Francis Medical Group.
