(Hartford, Conn. November 17, 2011) – Mehran Motamed, M.D., of Farmington, a child psychiatrist, has joined the Medical Staff of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
Dr. Motamed received his medical degree from the Tehran University School of Medicine, Tehran, Iran. He served as a resident in general psychiatry at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Elmhurst, N.Y., and a fellow in child and adolescent psychiatry at Columbia University/Saint Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, New York.
Dr. Motamed is board certified in general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and addiction medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
Dr. Motamed most recently served as an attending psychiatrist at the Queens Children Psychiatric Center, Queens, N.Y. He is the author of a paper published in the Journal of Addiction Medicine, an abstract presented at the 38th Annual Meeting of the Infectious Disease Society of America, and presented and published a case at a meeting of the Iranian-American Medical Association.
At Saint Francis, he is practicing as a member of the Saint Francis Behavioral Health Group.
