Hospital Names Director of Nursing Education and Practice Innovation

(Hartford, Conn. December 1, 2011) – Lee A. Galuska, M.S.N., R.N., of Southington, has rejoined Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center as Director of the Center for Nursing Education and Practice Innovation.  In her new position, Galuska will be responsible for nursing education, academic affiliations, shared governance, and oversight of Magnet designation activities.
Galuska received a bachelor of science in nursing degree magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut and a master of science in nursing administration from the University of Hartford. 
A veteran of more than 30 years in nursing, Galuska served as Director of Women’s and Children’s Services at Saint Francis from 2007 until June 2011.  She has previously held nursing leadership positions at MidState Medical Center and the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
Galuska is a member of the American Association of Nurse Executives; Connecticut Nurses’ Association; Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing; American College of Health Care Executives; the Mu Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau nursing honoring society; and is the Immediate Past President of the Connecticut Association of Nurse Executives.
