Rare Heart Disorder Treated at Saint Francis

(Fox Connecticut News, May 3, 2012) All her life, Kerri Powers was sure her unsettling bouts with a racing heartbeat were not all in her head. Finally, she found a doctor at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center who agreed. Cardiologist Dr. Joseph Dell'Orfano diagnosed Powers with SVT, a rare type of heart irregularity caused by a short circuit in the center of her heart. Two years after he performed an operation to find and remove the cause of the irregularity, Powers heart continues to beat normally.
