Conn. January 3, 2014) – Saint Francis Hospital and Medical
Center has named Fiona Phelan, of
Killingworth, to the position of Media Relations Manager.
Phelan brings over 25 years of media experience to this
position, most recently supporting the Media Relations Manager position at
Saint Francis in her role as Senior Communications Associate.
“Fiona has been a valuable member of our communications
team since 2012 and we look forward to building on a positive momentum at Saint
Francis,” said Jim
Schepker, Senior Vice President, Marketing. “She will continue to be an asset
to the Hospital and our efforts to promote the world-class care that
distinguishes Saint Francis.”
In her new position, Phelan will
be responsible for developing television, radio, print and social media
coverage of Hospital-related events, programs and services. She will also
recommend media strategies and tactics related to the launch of new programs,
facilities and technologies at Saint Francis.
Phelan is an established print publication editor and has
previously served as Manager of Corporate Communications at The United
Illuminating Company and general assignment reporter for the Connecticut Post. Phelan has also been a contributing writer for
various publications including Business New
Haven, Better Health, Connecticut Business Journal, Connecticut Woman magazine, Living on the Shoreline and Patch.com,
