(Hartford, Conn. February 3, 2011) - Paul F. Mitchell, D.M.D., of Hartford, has been elected to a two-year term as President of the Medical Staff at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, after serving as Vice President of the Medical Staff for the last two years.
Dr. Mitchell received his degree in dentistry from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark, and served as resident in dentistry at that institution.
A diplomate of the American Board of Special Care Dentists, he is a Fellow of the American Association of Hospital Dentists.
Dr. Mitchell has served as Chairman of Saint Francis' Department of Dentistry since 1989. He previously served as Director of the Dental Center and Program Director of the General Practice Residency Program in Dentistry at York Hospital, York, Pa.
Dr. Mitchell was the 2008 recipient of the American Association of Hospital Dentists' Dr. Lawrence J. Chasko Distinguished Service Award, only the seventh recipient in the 40-year history of the American Association of Hospital Dentists.
