NAMI BAYAN, M.D., JOINS SAINT FRANCIS - Specialist in Internal Medicine

(HARTFORD, Conn., Feb.23, 2010) – Nami Bayan, M.D., of Middletown, has joined the Medical Staff of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Bayan received his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. He served as an intern in internal medicine at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital/New York Medical College, Bronx, N.Y.; as a resident in internal medicine at Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma City; and as a resident in internal medicine at Saint Mary’s Hospital/Yale School of Medicine, Waterbury.

Dr. Bayan has also served as a postdoctoral research fellow at Okalahoma University Health Sciences Center and a researcher at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Lubbock, Texas. He is the author or co-author of five publications in scientific journals.

A diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Bayan is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association. Most recently, Dr. Bayan has served as a hospitalist at Midstate Medical Center, Meriden, and New Milford Hospital. At Saint Francis he will practice as a member of Mahmood Yekta, M.D., P.C.

Founded in 1897, Saint Francis is a major teaching hospital licensed for 617 acute inpatient beds and 65 bassinets. It is the largest Catholic hospital in New England.
