(BLOOMFIELD, Conn., May 26, 2010) – Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center has formally dedicated today the new Bloomfield Urgent Care Center and Medical Offices located at 421 Cottage Grove Road, in Copaco Plaza., with a ribbon-cutting celebration and facility tours.
The 7,000-square-foot building houses an Urgent Care Center, laboratory services and offices for primary care physicians and specialists.
“This Center is part of Saint Francis’ increasing effort to provide medical services to people in their hometowns,” said Christopher M. Dadlez, President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are pleased to be part of Bloomfield, a growing, dynamic community.”
The Urgent Care Center provides care for minor emergencies as well as routine medical needs, such as physicals and vaccinations. Staffed by two board-certified physicians, -- Gilberto Ramirez, M.D., and Eric Goldberg, D.O., the Center also includes Collaborative Laboratory Services, a Saint Francis Care partner, which has an on-site patient service center for blood and specimen collection.
The Urgent Care Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome at Collaborative Laboratory Services Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed from 12:30 to

The Bloomfield facility is also home to the internal medicine practice of Stanley Glassman, M.D. The 1,670-square-foot office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, closed for lunch from 12 to 1 p.m.

Founded in 1897, Saint Francis is a major teaching hospital licensed for 617 acute inpatient beds and 65 bassinets. It is the largest Catholic hospital in New England.
