Insurance & Financial Responsibility
You will be asked if you are enrolled in a hospitalization insurance plan. We will bill your insurance company directly.
Saint Francis participates in and accepts most major payers including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial carriers and managed care programs.
The admitting registrar will ask you for the information on your insurance identification cards.. Pre-certification is required in many cases. This process must be initiated by you and/or your admitting physician, depending on your coverage.
Ask your insurance carrier or your physician's office for assistance. Most insurance companies require that you notify them before an elective or urgent admission. If the proper requirements are not met your admission may be rescheduled.
If your scheduled admission/procedure is the result of an accident, you will be asked to provide the admitting registrar with all accident insurance information prior to the date of admission.
If you have any questions about your insurance coverage, benefits, or the cost of your care, you may call our patient service representatives at 860-714-4952. They will answer your question or forward you to a financial counselor. return to top
