The pediatric inpatient unit at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center is a 20-bed facility that meets the needs of infants, children and adolescents who require overnight hospitalization, day treatment and procedural care. Staffed by pediatric nurses and physicians from the Department of Pediatrics, the pediatric inpatient unit provides comprehensive care and management of children with both minor and complex medical problems, as well as patients undergoing general and specialty surgery. Day treatment and one-day admission services allow for observation, management and treatment of children who require services outside the scope of a physician’s office but not needing an overnight hospital stay. The pediatric inpatient unit is the home of The Ouchless Place©, the region’s first pediatric unit dedicated to providing a pain-free atmosphere for patients.
