What is the sleep center laboratory

In 1997, Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center opened a four-bed sleep diagnostic facility on the Saint Francis Campus at 114 Woodland Street in Hartford. This facility is state-of-the-art, equipped with the latest monitoring equipment, featuring comfortable sleeping quarters and a highly trained and efficient staff to assist patients during their sleep study. Since moving to the new location, the Sleep Laboratory processes over 500 studies annually. This year, Saint Francis received accreditation by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine as a Sleep Disorders Center.

The Center consists of a multidisciplinary team of specialists in ears, nose and throat, neurology, psychiatry, pediatrics, and pulmonary medicine, who are consultants to the program and are available for patients who require specialized care. Specialists in sleep medicine also collaborate to provide care, with an emphasis on the assessment of abnormal sleep and waking and the effects of normal sleep on other types of disorders.

Our Mission

The mission of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center is to improve and enrich the lives of the people in our region through clinical excellence, superior technology, community outreach and education, and dedication to the core values on which we were founded.
