             Health Education Programs

            Lupus, women’s health and shaping up for summer are among the topics for July in Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center’s health education series.

            Stephanie Krulewitz, M.A., C.A.C., C.C.D.P., C.C.S., L.A.D.C., will review food addiction and weight loss surgery on Wednesday, July 14, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Saint Francis Care Community Health Resource Center, 31 Sycamore St., Glastonbury.

            Women’s health and wellness will be discussed by Iacob Marcovici, M.D., an obstetrician/gynecologist, on Tuesday, July 20, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Mandell Jewish Community Center, 335 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford.

            Thomas McLarney, M.D., a family practitioner, will discuss losing weight and shaping up for summer on Tuesday, July 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the Saint Francis Care Community Health Resource Center, 31 Sycamore St., Glastonbury.

            Anne Parke, M.D., a rheumatologist, will discuss the diagnosis and management of the disease Lupus on Wednesday, July 21, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Saint Francis Care Community Health Resource Center, 7 Elm St., Enfield.

            Positive Thoughts, Positive Outcomes Session Slated

            Program to Review Surgical Treatment for Obesity

            Weight Loss Through Hypnosis Sessions Offered

            Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center will offer two classes on weight loss through hypnosis during July.  During the sessions, participants will receive a post-hypnotic suggestion designed to help them lose unwanted cravings and reduce their consumption of sweets.  Sessions will be held on Tuesday, July 13, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Hospital, 114 Woodland St., Hartford; and on Thursday, July 22, from 6:30 to

            Stroke Prevention/Education Programs Planned

            Programs Slated on Smoking Cessation Through Hypnosis

            Partner Massage Workshops Slated

            Saint Francis Care at Enfield will present a partner massage workshop on Thursday, July 15, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Saint Francis Care Community Health Resource Center, 7 Elm St., Enfield.  The workshop will teach soothing and effective techniques to reduce stress and help a partner relax.  Participants should wear comfortable clothing and bring a blanket, two pillows and a large bath towel.             Look Good, Feel Better Session Set
