High school students between the ages of 14 and 17 can volunteer during the summer or during the academic year. A minimum commitment of one four-hour shift each week is required. We ask that the students volunteer for at least 40 hours during the school year or 50 hours during the summer. Volunteering provides a wonderful opportunity for career exploration, as well as to fulfill high school community service requirements. Students follow the same procedure as adults to participate in the volunteer program.
Applications are available by contacting the Department of Volunteer Services or submitting a request for an application online. Junior volunteers assist in many of the same areas as our adult volunteers. Applications for the summer program must be received no later than May 31. Interviews are conducted during June.
