For infants with medical problems, there is a special care nursery on site and access to the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within the pavilion. The unit offers parenting rooms and feeding rooms where parents can visit with their infants.
Birth care services are provided in The John M. Gibbons Pavilion for Women, located on the fourth floor of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center Patient Care Tower. The pavilion is named in honor of John M. Gibbons Jr., M.D., for his leadership as director and chairman of Saint Francis Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology from 1970 to 1994 and in recognition of generous gifts from the department, the Gibbons family and the Catherine and Frederick Peyser Trust.
