Trinity Health Of New England is committed to acting with integrity and makes decisions based on the highest standards of ethical behavior, including complying with all applicable laws and regulations.

The Trinity Health Of New England Integrity & Compliance Department is focused on adding value and improving the operations of Trinity Health Of New England. Our department assists the organization in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. The Trinity Health Of New England Integrity & Compliance Department operates based on the eight elements of an effective compliance program, as defined by the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services.

Code of Conduct

The Integrity and Compliance Program provides our colleagues, medical staff, vendors and other business partners with resources to assist them in meeting applicable legal, ethical and professional responsibilities. One key resource is the Trinity Health Of New England Code of Conduct, which describes expected behaviors and conduct of all who work at Trinity Health Of New England and provides appropriate responses to common issues that are often encountered in the workplace. The Trinity Health Of New England Supplier Code of Conduct communicates the minimum standards by which all Trinity Health Of New England Vendors are expected to conduct themselves when providing goods or services to our system. Other key components include education and training, auditing and monitoring of Trinity Health Of New England business activities, and mechanisms that allow colleagues, medical staff, vendors and other business partners to raise issues and concerns so they may be addressed with timely and appropriately. Members of the medical staff of Trinity Health Of New England can refer to the Code of Conduct-Supplement for Medical Staff.

Education and Training

All newly hired Trinity Health Of New England colleagues are required to attend an orientation on the Integrity and Compliance Program and sign an agreement to abide by the Code of Conduct. The information is reinforced through ongoing education and training, particularly for colleagues whose position requires additional knowledge and understanding of the laws and regulations that apply to their work responsibilities.

Delivering health care services is an increasingly challenging task, with complex and ever-changing rules and regulations that apply to our operations. There will likely be times when the answer to an issue is unclear. Colleagues of Trinity Health Of New England are encouraged to seek answers to their questions or concerns through various resources and options made available to assist them.
